After the picture taking, we took a break to eat those bananas and lychee. Cass then pulled out her hackey sack and we taught the monks a new game. Of course, they had to try to tornado kick it out of the air. Seeing Mike do some cartwheels, Shi Heng Jie tried to get him to do a no-handed cartwheel. After some instruction, Mike improved upon his 1-handed cartwheel, and will soon be doing backflips like a pro. It started to get late, so we decided to walk back to our car ( parked 15mins away :| ) On our way back, we picked up some iced caps from tim hortons. The monks seemed to like it. :) We got back to sauga at around 9:40. We took the monks to go eat. Being vegetarian, we took them to a congee place. But they wanted to try out the ChiuChow restaurant next door. Everyone in the restaurant was giving us stares. Those monks sure know how to draw attention. Luckily, they had mandarin speaking waitresses, saving us alot of headaches. Sifu called at the beginning of dinner. He was surprised that we were still with the monks, since the plan was to take them to niagara, let them take a few pictures, and come back. We had originally planned to get back before sunset, but these monks were more fun than expected. We took them back to the hotel afterwards, where we took some final pictures, and exchanged addresses, which was a headache and a half, since these monks really don't know any english, except "OK" and "thank you". On the car ride back, they used the travel guide to tell us that they "Had a nice time this evening". We thought that was really cool. Cass and Mike were like "awww!"
One final group picture. We thought the night was over, so we said goodbye, and headed back to the school. Just as we were about to go home, Sifu pulls up at the school and tells Cass and Mike to go pick up the monks again. We had to give them some gifts and take some pictures before they have to leave the next morning.
After receiving their gifts, we exchanged our final farewells before the monks catch their flights at 6am. As Mike and Sifu headed home, Cass and I dropped them off at the Hotel, and waved goodbye. We miss them already, and we hope they come visit us again, or maybe we can visit their school in Beijing sometime in the future. |
